Meet the Coaches
Head Coach/Girls Varsity
     Mark Celestin has been a Social Studies teacher at LosAl since 1983.  Coach Celestin ran Cross Country and Track at Mt. Sac College, Saddleback College, and UC Irvine, where he was a national qualifier.  He was an assistant coach at University High School and Woodbridge High School, before coming to LosAl. During the 1980's and 1990's, he coached the Griffins to five straight league championships and several appearances
at CIF Finals.  Coach Celestin has previously been named as Orange County Coach of the Year and Orange County Teacher of the Year finalist.  He is also the founder of Runner's Workshop Running Camps - the largest running camps in Western United States.
Boys Varsity Coach
   Jeremy Berryman has been coaching youth sports for over twenty years, including many teams in the community.  He has coached in the Los Alamitos Cross Country and Track programs for the last five years.  Coach Jeremy continues to run in his spare time and competes in 5K's, 10K's, and half marathons.
Fresh/Soph Coach
   Keith Mendoza is a 2010 Los Alamitos High School graduate who ran Cross Country and Track (1600m and 3200m) each of his four years.  Keith joined the coaching staff at LAHS in 2015 and he is also a former counselor at Runner's Workshop Running Camps.  Keith is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and is passionate about Education and English Studies.

Assistant Coach
   Jonathan Rulison is a 2017 Los Alamitos High School graduate who ran both Cross Country and Track for the Griffins from 2013-2017.  Jonny joined the LAHSXC coaching staff upon graduation in 2017.  Jonny also coaches the distance runners for LAHS Track in the Spring.  Jonny currently studies engineering at California State University, Long Beach with a passion for Writing & Speaking.
